A Bit of a Galah

Mandurah Wildlife - Crispy the Galah
Crispy just after he arrived

Galahs are sometimes referred to as the clowns of the bird world. They can be extremely friendly and this is something the volunteer staff at the Mandurah Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre are aware of but do not want to encourage.

The goal is to return animals and birds to the wild so getting close to the patients is not encouraged.

Patients are not normally given names but a certain pink and grey galah that came in after having been electrocuted could not avoid attracting the nickname, Crispy.

Crispy has been placed in one of the back aviaries to minimise human contact and his feathers are now growing back and the Centre is working to buddy him up with other galahs prior to release.

Help us treat and release all wounded and sick animals that are brought to our Intensive Care every day.

A monthly $10 donation goes a long way towards the rehabilitation of little creatures like "Spunk the Dove".
